The default shortcuts in the Neirose window, and how to change them.

Playback shortcuts
| Key | Action | When it applies |

| Space | Play or pause the current track. | A track is selected, no modifier is held, and focus is not in text entry or on a button. A focused button keeps its normal Space action. |
| Left / Right | Seek backward / forward five seconds. | A track is selected, no modifier is held, and focus is not in a text-entry control. |
| Ctrl+Left / Ctrl+Right | Previous / next track. | A track is selected and focus is not in a text-entry control, where these keys move by word. |
| Ctrl+Up / Ctrl+Down | Volume up / down by 5%. | Focus is not in a text-entry control. Holding the keys keeps changing the volume. |
These are shortcuts in the Neirose window. Media keys are handled separately through Windows media controls. Change shuffle and repeat has no default key; you can give it one.
Pages and text size

Change a shortcut
- Open Settings → Keyboard shortcuts.
- Click the shortcut you want to change; it shows Press keys….
- Press the new keys. Esc cancels, and Backspace leaves the action without a shortcut.
If the keys already run another action, they move to the one you are changing and Neirose tells you which action lost its shortcut. Reset on a row restores its default, and Restore defaults restores them all. Tab, Esc, and keys Windows handles, such as media and volume keys, cannot be assigned. Shortcuts work while a Neirose window has focus.
Add music

| Ctrl+O | Open the audio-file picker to add files for playback. Multiple files can be selected. |
| Ctrl+Shift+O | Open the folder picker to add music from a folder for playback. |
For indexing and managing your browsable collection, use Library → Folders. File and folder shortcuts are suppressed while a modal sheet is open.
